Editor Katie Gergen grew up in Sacramento, California and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to attend film school at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. She has been named to the Dean’s list six times in her academic career. Katie learned video editing at an early age and is well versed in Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, and Avid Media composer. Katie has worked on several short films throughout college. She served as editor on “American Halloween”, a short film which received the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Indie Short Fest. In addition to her fiction work, Katie has experience with editing news packages and marketing videos. Katie served as a Multimedia Student Assistant at the California Energy Commission where she helped plan, direct, film, and edit various multimedia projects across several platforms to promote efficient energy use. Katie was also elected Video Production and Digital Marketing Specialist of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at USC and created a recruitment video as well as multimedia content for their social media platforms - which generated more than 100 thousand views on TikTok.
